‘The image of the Westbury White Horse has always been important to me. Growing up in Westbury, Wiltshire , it was a symbol that fascinated from an early age and when I went away to University, then subsequently lived in different places, I always felt that I had come home when the striking image of the White Horse appeared on the horizon.

I seek to tie the horse in with decorative elements from buildings in the town of Westbury, such as stained glass designs and carved motifs taken The Laverton, a Victorian building built at the height of Westbury’s cloth manufacturing.

Many of my recent artworks have incorporated the moon and hare motif, an ancient symbol that fits well with the stories of the chalk and Wiltshire landscape.'
