‘The image of the Westbury White House has always been important to me. Growing up in Westbury, Wiltshire , it was a symbol that fascinated from an early age and when I went away to University, then subsequently lived in different places, I always felt that I had come home when the striking image of the White Horse appeared on the horizon.
During the White Horse series I sought to tie the horse in with decorative elements from buildings in the town of Westbury, such as stained glass designs and carved motifs taken The Laverton, a Victorian building built at the height of Westbury’s cloth manufacturing.
I've always been interested in the ancient image of the moon and hare, an image that I've recently been adding into some of my work.'
